Kashmir Issue.

Yesterday, I read @Aagan86's blog about Kashmir and Lamhaa the movie, one thing came to my mind was: "What would happen, if India declared Kashmir independent, and withdrew all troops over night!" Only a hypothetical development, as if it would ever happen! And I would certainly not do so, even if I were the whole and sole authority on the decision of Kashmir.

The immediate questions that would arise, and would certainly make Pakistan scramble for action.

1. Pakistan would have to declare independence of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) and recognize it as a free country and lastly withdraw troops too, unless it decides to stop over and help valley "Develop!"

2. If Pakistan decides to execute 1st point, then it would have to answer bitter questions about territory it gifted away to China, which certainly would not be part of Sovereign state of Kashmir anymore and hence new struggle will ensue.

3. Now, in-case Pakistan does not execute 1st point that would be like welcoming trouble with both arms. The insurgency, terrorism or revolution or whatever they supported from across the border, would be dissatisfied and turn against Pakistan. And only worst thing than a strong intelligent enemy is an emotional, fooled, disillusioned former friend turned foe.

However, bright it seems for India to give up on Kashmir, so as to add some more trouble on plate of Pakistan and China, India would have some trouble to handle too!

1. Kashmiri Pundit’s would agitate, and so would other Kashmiri's who are working in other parts of India.

2. Hopes of China, regarding other disputed territories such as Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh would increase, which India does not need.

3. But 1st and foremost, reason to not cede territory is Indian notion, where in our land is equivalent to our mother, and hence not to be given to someone, that implies: "Hindus would cause a Riot."

In-case Pakistan gives up on Kashmir?

1. Even if Pakistani leadership gives up on Kashmir, military would never do so! As it would see ultimate defeat of their own, hence they would do what they know best: Overthrow democratic government and establish military rule.

2. All groups Jihadist, peaceful ones and all such organizations would turn against Pakistan Government, which is already facing terrorist activities, and this will only add to it.

3. Kashmiris: Hurriyat parties, peaceful, and non-peaceful organization will also turn foes of Pakistan, which will be difficult to tackle.

After thinking on all these points, It seems Kashmiris are caught in catch22 situation of the two quarrelling countries. And therefore I wonder if India, Pakistan and China (Marginal role) would ever resolve the Kashmir issue!

Christmas!

Christmas! Merry Christmas! This season is incomplete without celebrating Christmas. But being an Indian, I am not that involved in celebrations. Love that story though, of Jesus and his birth. Love the decoration and sincerely love the Holiday that it brings with itself.

Never did i ever have asked Santa or written a letter to him or an email these days, was not part of my upbringing. No gifts, no frills for me, till i was about 7 year old. That's the first time I asked, why we do not calibrate Christmas? And got 1st lesson in religion, though my father is not a religious kind, he just did not want to calibrate a festival, that no one did around our house. Why look different when you have just started to fit in?
Then, thankfully, a Christian family became my dad's friend and from 8th year of my life I started celebrating Christmas. Not any fanfare, just a cake that was cut and shared. Since that day, one thing i wish for on a Christmas day is a Cake/Pastry, that i am having, but i am not it's buyer. Santa has to account for something, I have been good all this time. This year I had a craving for chocolates, the Kisses and Hershey's to be precise, and they have safely landed in my fridge, for my aunt just came back from USA, a whole 10 days earlier than planned.

So, its Merry Christmas to me! And Merry Christmas to all!

2012-Not A Review

          Saw 2012, bit late, after going through many reviews of the movie, but i noticed some other changes that have taken place over the years in Hollywood movies and some that have not taken place and certain way that USA looks at the world.

          1. Cold War is OVER.

              Through the era have seen many movies, classics, bond movies, etc, where Russians agents, and US/British agents fought to sabotage each others plan. This movie gives clear picture that American no longer see Russians as threat. Yes, its over for sure, a common American man is shown working for a Russian who is not so good, and in end an American guard saves the Russian mans twins. Still the twins are misbehaving at end of movie.

         2. China.

              China gets to build the ships, could have taken money, finance from the world, art and all and then  just saved its own citizens and animals, while ditching all other country people. Who could have stopped them, what power does a destroyed, dieing world has. But, USA is very sure that they will built the required ships, in required time and ready for use without testing, and hand over the reign to respective country. Hence USA looks up to China.

        3. Arabs.

              At cost of some 2 billion Dollars, Dubai Sheikh makes it to the ship, cause he can pay. So will many others from region, will make it to the list.

        4. Saved list.

             This list is Important, it contains

                                People from

                                    ->UK, France (Former Colonists of USA) sadly Spain missed out.

                                    ->Axis powers saved-Germany, Japan and Italy.

                                    ->Russia (Formerly USSR)

                                    ->Arabs

                                    ->China

                               Animals.

                               Money and things of Monetary value.

                                    -> Paintings. World Art heritage, agreed.

                                    -> Money.

                                    How come a reborn world which has so less number of humans, and other species, value old currency when a major cleaning the land, removing the debris, bodies, forming the land for cultivation, cultivating the fields, is puzzling, even more so when the survivors are handful, even if there are 60 ships, each carrying a million people each, thats generous estimate, only saves 10% of the current world population, and plus these contain people would not even be able to work, for example can Queen of England do any thing!

         5.  Lesson learned none!

                            The person who flags the Red flag, is Indian  in first, place, he misses the USA ship along with his family and there is no Indian ship. He also gives the new update of new wave from East, saves many skins in last moments of his life. Ironic, for a country which has not invaded any other country in last 10,000 years to be wiped out, by natural invasion.

                            Are we really second fastest growing nation for sure. Yes, we are. So why are we not that important enough to be saved.

                             Neither, do plants and seed and saplings seem to be on board, as far as it seems they are not.

               The lesson I learned, to be true friend of USA, one has to be seen as threatening in past or present.

                This time is best to write this, cause this is not going to give rise to any controversies.

Gandhi the Mahatma

          Well we all remember this man though some of us have never seen him in our lifetime, even more so in last few days for his birthday and Mont blanc's Rs.1.1 million pen. And we sat down to debate about Gandhian values and the pricing of pen. Well off course they do not jell together that well. Except for Gandhiji had used one pen in his lifetime, nothing else. The use of gold, luxury associated with pen is in stark contrast to the term "naked fakir", a term used to depict his attire.

           Let alone the pen and its branding, if we look beyond that, and think how Indians have taken to values of Gandhiji, it comes as no surprise; that this to would happen some day. Lets look at some of the Gandhian values and there modern interpretation followed by most Indians.

         1. Be on time. Well off course we are on time. And we follow India Standard Time, so what if we are late by about hour or two as per watch.

         2. All are equal. Yes we are secular. Therefore in each election every party tries to appease different sects. All are given protection, rather reservation. As  if 60 years were not enough to elevate position of the SCs', OBCs', NTs' etc.

         3. Alcohol is evil, do not consume it. Yes we celebrate 2nd October as dry day, and yes some other national holidays, but rest of the 350 days we are free to drink and be merry.

         4. Live simple. Yes most of Indian have habit of simple life; there is no other choice.

         5. Hear no Evil. Yes, how much ever the next door woman screams while being abused, we did not hear anything. Until she is dead/seriously injured and media has come.

         6. See no evil. Well its not happening to me, so why should i wait and watch.

         7. Say no evil. This is the reason there are no witness or least they turn hostile.

         8.Non-Violence. Need i say anything, we have had wars, riots, mafia, encounter killings, terrorist attacks, Maoists, Naxalites, and what not.

         9. Austerity. Well leave alone the pen, the country that brands its currency in Gandhi's face, should consider Rs.1.1 million as a new currency note having a denomination 1100 times greater than Rs.1000.

          Gandhigiri, the modern word for Gandhian values, at the end of day has to borrow from dadagiri, its twist on tongue to popularize them. Its our era that treats anything through tinted glasses of fashion, selfish motto of "Whats in it for me" and money rather than simple passion.

          I am not saying all is lost, nor are we totally awake. We do need a cup of tea as eye opener, as the Jagore campaign says.
